What Are The Signs Of A Life Out Of Balance

And What’s the First Thing You Can Do to Regain It?

Balance is more of a feeling than an act, although many people refer to it as a balancing “act.” Most of us know when we’re feeling out of balance. Many people comment that things feel best when home and work are balanced.

Professional women who feel as though they’ve achieved balance generally say they feel: – Happy – Productive – Empowered – In control and Energetic

If you feel like this, you might want to take a moment to celebrate because you’ve achieved something that most only dream of! If, however, you don’t feel like this, you can join the ranks of well over half of the population. Many many women are feeling like life is out of balance and as though it is high time for change.

So how do you know if your life could be more balanced? Do you feel:

– Like everything is out of control?

– That it is difficult to manage your time?

– As though everything is pulling at you?

– Constantly worn down and tired?

– As if you have few or no good choices?

– Like you react, rather than respond, during stressful moments?

– Or that you spend all your time doing things for others, but that no one seems to reciprocate?

If these feelings resonate with you, you’re not alone.

It’s not hard to see why finding a balance between work and home can become a daunting task when you’re feeling like this. Being at a point of imbalance creates incredible difficulty in making change because you exist in a state of feeling as though you have no control… and when you feel dis-empowered, it’s just plain tough to make change.

That’s why so many stay in a place of challenge. It’s quite simple really: When we’re worn down, tired, feeling as though we have no good choices, and reacting poorly to those around us, we create a downward spiral that feeds itself. Usually it takes a big event to knock us onto another path. Fortunately awareness is a key in all of this, and when we can identify that sense of loss of control, we can also begin to take it back.

So if you can do nothing else right now, please consider two small steps: The first step is “knowing” — and you’re already working on that aspect by reading this. The second step is rest. Simply, begin getting the rest you are lacking. No matter how much that little voice in your head tells you that you can’t afford to do it, argue back and get some sleep. Resting your mind will give you the mental strength to begin taking action towards a better future.

Most likely you’re first inner reaction will be to fight this solution, but acceptance and rest will give you the strength to begin to implement change that will allow you to take back your life.

Time is precious my friend. Get some rest. We’ll talk more in the morning.
